Circuit I and Circuit II

Circuit Stories

Last year my high school basketball team celebrated our ten year anniversary of playing in the State playoff finals!  Now I don’t mean to brag, but I was known to jump up and touch the net back then and I was definitely able to run up and down the court a few times before I got winded.  I’ll stop there, because I am humble, but if we had more time I’d tell you about the game when I scored or the time that I thought I was going to be on the starting five.  Either way, ten years later, a group us in our mid to upper twenties sat up in a box at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin and revisited the “good ol’ days.”  We watched high school teams play in the same arena a decade later.  But we didn’t only watch; we talked too.  The behind the back passes, the slam dunks from the all-stars, the locker room chatter. In short, we relived memories.  We shared our stories.  I know you have stories of old as well.  You and your friends at the Jr. High lunch tables; the first time you drove with your license, that nightmare prom date or pot luck roommate.  Some stories bring a smile while others can cause unwanted relapse.  But all these past moments make up something that is invaluable.  Something that takes a million voices to share and cannot ever be replaced…You.  This summer the Circuit I and II classes are privileged to hear real stories that have shaped some of our very own people.  Please take the opportunity from July 13th to Aug 10th to listen to how some of life’s greatest challenges and memories have shaped 5 of our own towards a continued living for God. Our best times are still ahead and the good ol’ days are just around the corner. -- Brett Bishop

July 13 - “Blind but with vision” -- Aaron Johnson

July 20 - “The Mark of God” -- Amber Allardice

July 27 - “Resentment turned to Respect” -- Joe Pollard

Aug 3 - “Knowing God”-- Alex Dewitt

Aug 10 - "Baptism and God's Faithfulness" -- Karen Thomas

DIGGING DEEPER

Jesus bluntly told his disciples, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:18).  Since “disciple making” is a direct command, truly understanding what a disciple “is” and “is not” is critical.  For several months we will dig deep to find out what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
